I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Montclair State University. While there I interned at a small private practice for a child psychologist. After I graduated, I made my way to Hofstra University where I received my masters in Mental Health Counseling. During my time there I counseled students at our mental health center. I was the Co-President of the Chi-Sigma, Lambda Nu Chapter that was designed to promote excellence in the profession of counseling. I was also the graduate research assistant where I won a grant for LGBTQ+ Research Initiative and published an article on my findings. I did my internship at YES Counseling Center where I stepped foot into the world of drug and alcohol counseling.
I believe in an eclectic approach but rely heavily on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy and Psychotherapy. I enjoy working with high school aged kids and up. I also enjoy doing couples counseling and watching them reconnect. Most of my clientele struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and childhood trauma. There is no greater joy for me then watching my clients get to the point where they no longer need therapy because they have successfully reached their goals. No two clients are the same which is why it is so important to tailor their treatment plans based on individuality and their personal growth along the way. I believe in building a strong rapport from the start, because no good work can get done without it!

I recently graduated from Walden University with a Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I currently work with kids, teens, couples, adults, and LGBTQ+ populations. I have been trained in utilizing Person-Centered Therapy, therapy that is non-directive therapy and is empathetically driven toward providing a person with a safe space to talk, self-actualize (realize your full potential), and make positive changes in their life. I have worked in the mental health field as a Case Manager helping people access resources in their community and as a Direct Support Professional in Mental Health Housing Programs to help people gain independent living skills. I am a new counselor and I am looking forward to working with you.
